ELI5: What is the Single Market and what does leaving it do to the UK?

So lets say you own a company that sells clothes. You get all the proper paperwork saying that your company is authorized to operate in your home country. So you are free to sell it's clothes within your own country. While there might be some minor regulation differences between regions, normally countries take steps to make these "domestic" sales as easy as possible.
But when you want to expand that company into a new country, you'll face a series of problems. First is that shipping the product itself into the new country will likely incur a kind of tax. This is known as a tariff or duty, aka an import tax.
The next problem has to do with regulations. Different countries have different regulations on products. So my home country might allow the use of red die #1357 but the country I'm trying to expand into might not. Just different rules for different countries.
A long time ago the people of Europe saw some problems with this system. European countries tend to be fairly small so companies were always looking to expand into the country next door, and due to the above 2 things this was a giant pain in the ass.
The idea of the "single market" was that they would do away with the import/export taxes. Second they should take steps so that a product that is legal to sell in Germany is also legal to sell in Spain. This makes it easy for companies to expand their customer base from one country to another.
In a related way, the same idea was applied to the movement of people. A, Employee is just someone who sells their labor and they should be allowed to sell it in Germany, Spain or the UK. Just like any company can sell it's goods, any person can sell their labor.
So what does leaving this do to the UK. It means that the citizens of the UK will require special permission (a visa) to live and work in other European countries. So a Londoner wanting to work in Berlin would face the same challenges as a Londoner who wanted to work in New York.
Next, UK companies would face additional challenges when it comes to selling their products to the rest of Europe. This would likely mean the prices of those products raise, and sales fall. This is expected to cause some economic problems for the UK.
Foreign companies would also face higher costs when selling to the UK. So a product made in Germany would cost more. This would make it easier for local companies to compete with those foreign companies. So in general there would be a few more jobs, but the costs of almost all imported goods would raise so everyone would be spending a little more of their income on those same goods. In general it is expected that the economic boost from the new jobs will be fairly minor, wheres the damage from increased prices would be fairly large, so a net negative.
Are MH2 single market prices being manipulated on TCGplayer?
Main Post:
I was browsing singles this morning and noticed that in the sales history endurance were sold at 19.99 and solitude at 23.99, which are even below buylist prices. Some shops probably have automated price checks that update their own price to match the market price or a small bonus on market so is it possible that some are manipulating the market prices by posting and buying multiple copies by themselves?
Update 2023/01/04 : All of the reviews mention that the seller is not shipping, apparently making up excuses and delaying the refunds https://shop.tcgplayer.com/sellerfeedback/67367f23?_gl=1*ter1im*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE2NzEwODIwNjUuRUFJYUlRb2JDaE1JeDd2YzVQSDYtd0lWM2d5dEJoMlM2Z28zRUFBWUFTQUFFZ0lsQl9EX0J3RQ
Be aware and AVOID this seller when using cart optimizer.
Update 01/14 : shop taken down.
Top Comment:
- Put an expensive card for sale cheap.
- Wait for others to undercut.
- Buy the cards at the undercut price
- If someone buys the bait card, it never ships.
OR
New seller undercut way too much in hopes to get their order count up

ELI5: free trade zones and single markets

A free trade zone is an area where goods and products can cross national borders without paying taxes. A true free trade zone allows any product to cross borders without paying duties. Some agreements allow only certain things to be traded freely (e.g. manufactured goods have no taxes while raw materials such as steel or lumber have taxes).
A single market goes further. The countries in a single market generally allow not just goods but labor (people) to cross borders freely, so a citizen of one country can legally live and work in the other country without receiving a special visa. Single markets also tend to adopt similar or identical regulations so that the cost of producing goods, working conditions, etc are the same in each country, preventing one country from having an unfair advantage.the exact extent of this process varies, but that's the general process. In a free trade area, goods may be cheaper to produce in one country than another (lower wages, fewer environmental regulations, lower taxes) which gives that country an advantage (thus can help consumers in the second country but hurts native industry). A single market attempts to eliminate that by adopting universal rules, usually through international regulatory bodies (as in the EU) but it can also be achieved by all countries agreeing to pass identical laws.
Thoughts on single market for MH3?

The way some of this stuff is crashing it kinda puts collector boxes in a worse spot, kinda wild to see we are only in prerelease. So basically you get eldrazi cards as hits (can’t be that much in demand after a month) but even fetches are going down quite a bit. Easy to think fetches will recover and last but I’m not quite sure.

This set will sell like crazy and there will be a lot of copies of these cards in the wild due to collector boosties and play boosties. It is going to be #1 set of the year, not some bs like mkm that no one wanted
EU preparing to give Ukraine access to Single Market in peace deal
Main Post: EU preparing to give Ukraine access to Single Market in peace deal
Top Comment: [EXCLUSIVE] The Telegraph reports: Ursula von der Leyen is ready to push EU rules to “breaking point” to give Ukraine privileged access to the bloc’s Single Market as part of a final peace deal, The Telegraph can reveal. Lucrative access to a market of 449 million consumers would bring a much-needed economic boost to help rebuild the war-torn country, which is a candidate country to join the EU. The plan would see Brussels choose which sectors to open up to Kyiv and which to keep closed. Key to the plan is Ukraine’s booming defence industry, which is churning out large numbers of cutting edge drones and provides 55 per cent of weapons used by its army. Tariff-free access to Ukrainian arms would bring in money for Kyiv, while boosting the arsenals of EU countries that are rushing to ramp up defence spending and manufacturing. EU leaders gave their blessing to a plan to unlock €800bn in defence investment at a summit in Brussels on Thursday. During the Brexit negotiations, Brussels warned Britain against trying to “cherry pick” access to the Single Market without taking on the full obligations of EU membership, such as freedom of movement. “It’s already going in that direction,” a senior EU official told The Telegraph, when asked if the European Commission president was ready to stretch EU rules to their limit for Ukraine. Ideally, the plans would form the EU’s part of a final peace settlement but they do not depend on a deal being struck because the exchange of Single Market access for arms will speed up Ukraine one day joining the bloc. One EU diplomat pointed out that Ukraine wanted to join the EU, not leave it, and that Donald Trump kickstarting peace talks with Russia without Kyiv meant the “world had changed”. “Cherry-picking here is okay, if we are the ones picking the cherries to be picked,” the diplomat said, before predicting the plan would be welcomed by most member states. “In defence, Ukraine has a lot to give. The integration of its highly innovative and thriving defence industry, with its capacity to scale, could be a fire starter for a much more integrated European defence market,” said Marta Kos, the EU’s commissioner for enlargement. “We are also working on plans to accelerate the integration of Ukraine into many more parts of the Single Market – to attract more investments, to strengthen Europe-wide value chains, and to create new opportunities for both Ukrainian and European businesses. This will be a stepping stone to speed up the reconstruction of Ukraine,” she added in a speech this week. Marketplace effectiveness strategy
Main Post:
Thought I’d share something here that I figured out last night that really helped me. I had posted that I was struggling with houses up the road not walking to the market to get the goods, and were therefore very whiny. I couldn’t (and still don’t) understand why even with a large food and fuel surplus they couldn’t get their needs met.
I did learn that multiple marketplaces (I assume in a region, but not tested) show the percentages as if they are one, and as such stalls can be relocated across multiple markets.
If you didn’t already know, clicking a building and looking in the top right corner of the window shows a relocate button. This also appears for markets stalls. And not only can they be moved and turned in the market they are in, but they can be moved to a different market completely. Just keep in mind the walking distance of the peddler.
So as I was building level 2 burgages increasingly farther away from my initial market, I built a long and narrow marketplace along the side of a street, and moved the most convenient food, fuel, and clothing stall from the first market to the second to front the edge of the street. Not only does it look really cool, it seems to keep these houses in the running for supplies now.
Top Comment: Oddly enough, distance from marketplace has no affect on whether they can get supplies to the houses or not. I just posted this in another thread so I'll copy/paste it here: Markets work weird in this game compared to similar. The market stalls fill the houses by proximity first. So if you have 10 houses and 9 food at the market, one isn't going to get food. And the market workers don't physically take anything to houses, it's basically just teleported to the house. So you mainly just need to keep the market stocked, so make sure there's storage/granaries near your market and people working in them to keep them stocked. The market workers will pull from the storages.
